Who are our career coaches?

Marie-Luise Lambein

Hello! My name is Marie-Luise Lambein and I have been a licensed consultant at Das Karriere-Institut since 2019. I started out in the traditional way, coaching my clients on career-related issues and lecturing on the basics of our career seminar. I now train all new recruits for the basics seminar and have expanded my range to include seminars on ‘Rhetoric, Dialectics, Kinesics’, ‘Type-Appropriate Learning’ and ‘Career Development'.

What challenges did you face when you first started your career?

When I finished my master's degree in 2017, I quickly realised that I had made two major mistakes in the early stages of my career: I had started far too late to do research, visit job fairs, look for job vacancies and prepare my documents. What's more, I didn't really know what I wanted to do, let alone how much salary I could ask for. The second mistake: I had not built up any connections during my studies and therefore had no network that could have helped me.

What do you particularly enjoy about working at the Career Institute?

The joy of working at Das Karriere-Institut comes from many different areas! For me personally, the biggest part is actually this mixture of speaking in front of people, learning together and teaching others something that they can benefit from. Holding a seminar or coaching an audience always gives me a good dose of adrenaline. I regularly see how our participants engage with the topics, give each other feedback and grow as a result – and at the end of each seminar, they have become a little better. The best example of this is the seminar ‘Rhetoric, Dialectics, Kinesics’: here, all participants learn to speak in front of the whole group and gradually feel more confident and self-aware. The growth and learning achieved here is immediately apparent after a 6–7-hour seminar!

Not only is this very rewarding, it's also a lot of fun. I also learn something new from and about our participants every time, which in turn helps me grow. It's a great give and take! It is also a pleasure to receive feedback from former participants some time later on how they were able to successfully apply our tips and tricks! And since our career institute never stops growing, it is great that the speakers and coaches can contribute new seminar ideas or optimisations in order to improve together and offer more possibilities to a wider audience.

- What customer success story can you share with us that you were able to achieve through career coaching with one of your clients?

In short, there is one thing that always opens my clients' eyes:

By specifically pointing out all the things they have already mastered, learned and successfully completed, they go into job interviews or annual reviews with much more confidence to negotiate salary increases or other benefits.

I regularly receive feedback that salary negotiations have resulted in not just a 5-6% increase, but a 10% increase. The best result so far has even been an approximately 25% salary increase.

Maximilian Wimmer

My name is Maximilian Wimmer and I have been working as a licensed consultant and coach at Das Karriere-Institut since 29 March 2021. I regularly hold career seminars for students, graduates and professionals. The seminar imparts tried-and-tested knowledge for the entire application process. Individual coaching then focuses on the applicant's individual goal planning in order to jointly develop a career plan. Afterwards, questions in job interviews can be answered confidently and a salary increase of up to EUR 5,000 per year can be negotiated.

- What challenges did you face when you first started your career?

Without the necessary experience, it was very difficult for me to plan my career precisely at first. Especially when I was invited to interviews, I didn't know exactly how to answer the questions in the interview in such a way that I would stand out from the crowd.

What do you particularly enjoy about working at Das Karriere-Institut?

When an idea becomes a goal and the applicant achieves that goal. One example of this is an applicant who had been trying for years to apply for his dream job on the island of Tahiti. When I first contacted him, it was impossible for him to apply for this position and receive a positive response based on his academic career and professional experience. Every year, he tried again with his application and was rejected. Top applicants from the software industry worldwide had applied for the position.

After we had successfully completed the career planning and market value analysis and sent off the new application documents, the call came two weeks later with an invitation to the assessment centre. We then intensively prepared for the assessment centre. Out of 2,000 applicants, they only took 15. Thanks to our preparation, he got the job and successfully mastered the application process.

- What customer success story can you share with us that you were able to achieve through career coaching with one of your clients?

With the right strategy in salary negotiations and a market value analysis, one candidate (an engineer) was able to move to a new position after our coaching sessions – with a salary increase from €55,000 gross per year to €84,000 gross per year.

Alexander Zill

Hello, my name is Alexander Zill and I am the co-founder and director of Das Karriere-Institut. In addition to the strategic orientation and further development of the institute, I also hold seminars on various areas of personal development and work as a coach, primarily for executives and aspiring executives.

What challenges did you face when you first started your career?

I founded my first company at the age of 27. With all the mistakes you can make. It almost backfired. Unfortunately, I didn't have a coach at my side. The Career Institute didn't exist yet.

What do you particularly enjoy about working at Das Karriere-Institut?

Quite simply: to pass on my 30 years of experience in supporting specialists and managers. From the first decisions after training or university, through further career planning, to starting your own business.

What customer success story can you share with us that you were able to achieve through career coaching with one of your clients?

I could write a whole book about that. In addition to the many wonderful comments, I was particularly touched when the wife of one of my coaches called to thank me. For the first time in over six months, her husband was able to sleep well again and was enjoying going to work. This, of course, had a very positive effect on their relationship.
